Meet Teagan McLean

I didn’t come into this line of work from a lecture hall or a textbook — I came from the real world. For over 10 years, I’ve worked in high-pressure, people-focused environments: dispatch, manufacturing, office settings, call centres, security, and the Canadian Armed Forces. I’ve been behind the phones, on the ground, and at the front of the room leading teams through tough situations. That hands-on experience is what I bring to my consulting work — not theory, but practical strategy rooted in what actually works.

I’ve worked frontline in customer service. I’ve led emergency response teams. I’ve built structure in chaos. And through it all, I’ve kept learning — always curious, always looking for what makes a workplace actually function.

Today, I serve as a Commissioned Officer in the CAF, where I lead with clarity, communication, and accountability — all skills that translate directly into my consulting practice. My approach is shaped by years of real leadership, not just watching from the sidelines.

But I’ve also been on the other side.
I know what it’s like to work under poor leadership — to watch talented coworkers walk out because no one listened, to speak up about broken systems and get silence in return. I’ve left jobs for those reasons myself. I know how frustrating it is to care deeply about your work and still feel unsupported.

And if I’m being honest — my biggest motivation today doesn’t wear a uniform.
I’m also a dad to a toddler daughter who’s my whole world. She’s the reason I take this work seriously. The reason I push to do things the right way — not just fast, not just flashy, but with real substance. I want to show her that leadership can be thoughtful, that work can mean something, and that you can build a career by helping others succeed. Every business I help build stronger; I do with her future in mind.

Because small businesses don’t fail from a lack of hustle — they falter when internal systems are weak, communication breaks down, and leadership leaves people guessing.
